After we bought an 111-year-old home in Oak Park, Illinois, in 2017, I spent the next three years decorating that home in a traditional style. I’ve loved the process so much, I’ve decided to transition to a career in interior decorating and design. To help with this career switch, I’ve developed this website to showcase my decorating work.
My portfolio is the best place to check out some of my design projects. I’ll be highlighting items from the portfolio on social media in the coming weeks. I’ll also be publishing articles showing– everybody’s favorite—before and after pictures on some of the more significant projects. There are a lot of lessons I’ve learned through trial and error, and I’ll share them along with DIY projects I’ve incorporated into décor.
With family living in Europe, I’ve been fortunate to travel to Europe many times, especially England and France–two of my biggest design inspirations. I’ll share beautiful photos of grand English and French castles and homes that have impacted my understanding of and appreciation for traditional design.
I can’t wait to talk about fabrics, textiles, upholstery, color, antiques, furniture, craft projects, sewing, and so much more. I hope you’ll pick up some traditional décor ideas for your home. Let me know what traditional design questions you’d like to see discussed.
